Will I be able to use medical leave for plastic surgery?

I have worked for the same company for almost 3 years now. In about a month, I will be getting a hair transplant. I started losing my hair when I was 19 and I have had severe male pattern baldness ever since. I’ve been on propecia and rogaine for over a year, but no new hair growth has developed. I am currently 25 years old. I have also developed severe social anxiety and depression as a direct byproduct of my hair loss. About a month ago, I saw a plastic surgeon, and he said I am a candidate for surgery. Somehow, I was approved for a loan for the surgery, so the surgery’s already been paid off, and in about a month, I will be getting a hair transplant. At my job, I have 200 hours of medical leave saved up; however, in order to take a medical leave for more than 2 days, it needs to be approved by HR. I submitted my request to HR — it was approved by my manager, and my doctor said I will need a week off due to possible bleeding/scabbing that may occur after surgery. However, the lovely ladies in HR denied my request. When I asked them why, they said that my surgery is "not medically necessary", and it’s "really no different than getting a pimple popped." My plastic surgeon went to some of the best medical schools in the country, but these community college dropouts in HR apparently know more than my doctor, and think I don’t need the time off. I called my plastic surgeon, and he said he’s personally going to call them and stick up for me. But my question is, if they still refuse my request, do I have any options? I obviously need the surgery, and I don’t want to use my vacation days for it (I get less than 2 weeks vacation a year — and I’d like to spend that on an actual vacation, not recovering from major surgery). Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Small itchy red bumps resolved?

I’ve seen tons of people post on yahoo answers about getting very small extremely itchy red bumps that spread and vary in location. They can be anywhere on your body. I don’t know how to "answer" questions so I figured this would be the best and hope that these people find it. I can’t tell you exactly what it is and from what I have read most doctors don’t have an explanation either. I tried many different creams but what has worked for me is getting a bottle of Tea Tree Oil and diluting it and using like a cotton ball to spread it on infected areas. I’m on day 3 of doing this treatment and the itch is near non existent. The bumps themselves also seem to be clearing up. It won’t work over night but it is helping me. Also I have been taking 500mg of Lysine everyday. Its an amino acid that your body does not naturally produce but it helps with healthy skin & lip functions. A lot of people have said the condition started in the winter which is also true for me. These bumps are very small and have no big rash to go along with them but will spread when itched and are contagious. For me my girlfriend first got them on her ankle and gave them to me. It seemed hopeless at first. Nothing I could do to stop the itch, not even using a cordizone cream with a combination of benadryl. But once I started using the Tea Tree oil the itch stopped immediately. If you have this problem yourself I know how frustrating it can be. I wish I knew how to answer the questions directly in the thread because it seems to be affecting a lot of people. If you are one of these people I hope you find this and if you know how to answer the questions for people please repost this. I hope this method will work for you.

I’m sick of being ugly and I want to get plastic surgery. Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost? I was I was beautiful natrually but I’m not. Im 24 and I’ve never had a boyfriend. If I was attractive then things might happen for me.

i’m doing a report on discrimination against women, mainly sports and their appearance. i need good answers about why women are fit for any job that a man can do and how persistent they really are in competitions. Also for the appearance, how do you feel about women undergoing drastic changes to their body? If it isn’t for medical reasons, and only for self-esteem boost, is it right or wrong?

Why am I so ugly and a plain jane self-esteem issues?

I hate the way I look I have been called ugly all my life and I have no boyfriend and guys completely ignore me because the way I look everybody says I am ugly and a plain jane average looking I hate looking at myself in the mirror crying. I asked myself and my mom was I deformed when I was born.I am so disgusted with the way I look I have been told by some people that I need plastic surgery on my face to fix it. My friends gets all the attention and I am just being left out ignored. One guy told me I was gross I need a paper bag to hide my face. I cry everyday because the way I look my self -esteem is down to the floor. I need advice how to feel better about myself? Do I need surgery on my face? Any advice? Do I look like a plain jane?Thanks.

How do I ask my mom to let me get plastic surgery?

Are there any treatments and cures of Anhidrosis (Absent Sweating) caused by Autonomic Neuropathy?

Dear Doctor/Specialist.

For the past 2 years I have been suffering from Anhidrosis (Absent Sweating). I have the following symptoms, 1)Absent Sweating, 2)High Body Tempreature (I can’t cool down unless I take very cold showers and stay in an air conditioned room), 3)Hot Red Flushed Face, Neck and Upper Chest (Sunburn Look) and 4)Dry Skin.

I believe I have Autonomic Neuropathy and this could be causing my Anhidrosis, because it is the only thing I can come up with to explain why I have Anhidrosis.

I have the following questions!

Are there any treatments and cures for Anhidrosis?
Are there any medications and drugs that cause excessive sweating and that could treat or cure Anhidrosis?
Are there any vitamins or minerals that are good for sweat glands and sweat production and can they be used to treat or cure Anhidrosis?
Is there a possibility that Alpha Lipoic Acid (Which I have read is good for Autonomic Neuropathy) can restore my sweat gland function and would allow me to sweat again?
If I do find out that I have Autonomic Neuropathy and If I can get this treated, will I regain the use of my sweat glands and be able to sweat again?
Are there any clinical trials working on a treatment or a cure for Anhdirosis?
Is there any chance of being cure of Anhidrosis and how long would it take?
If I do have nerve damage that is causing my Anhidrosis, can damaged nerves be healed and restored, so that I can regain the use of my sweat glands and be able to sweat again?
I have read that Aquaporins 5 is being investigated as a possible cure for Anhidrosis and I am wondering if this can be injected into the body that would restore a person’s sweat function?

Please give me some hope, I am very desperate and I am going insane because I am very hot all the time and not sweating to cool my body down is just adding insult to injury. I want a doctor or specialist to answer my question and talk to me about how best to treat if not cure me of my terrible condition. I want to be able to sweat again and restore my body tempreature back to what it was before 2 years ago when I did not have Anhidrosis.

how many years away do you predict it will be for plastic/cosmetic surgery to be capable of taking 30 years off of a persons appearance?

Hello I’m Natalie and I’m currently a freshman in high school. I want to be a plastic surgeon when I’m older, (like rhinoplasty and stuff) my school offers a community college (for juniors and seniors) and one of the classes is health science surgery and I plan on taking this class when I’m a junior but I need transportation so I need a job. When I start college (idk what surgery majors in) I want atleast some experience with health science.
What I was wondering was what steps do I need to take in life, do you know a good college for plastic surgeons?
What do I do after college?
What do I do after High school?
How can I become a plastic surgeon??

can somebody pleasetellme how to get rid of scars, you see when i was little i always used to pick my scars and now i have them all up my legs and some on my arms! i really want to get rid of them and i have been trying bio-oil and it has hardly done anything! but i do have to admit that i have been slackinf off a bit with it (by thaty i mean i sometimesdont put it on everyday)! but i really want to get ridof them and i dont want to have to get plastic surgery! i wouls also like to know can u FAKE tan over them? cos that would be a really big help (as much as i dont want to turn out like a carrot)! also some natural or herbal cures would be nice to thanks! and if anyone wants an question they need helo with i would be happy to help, just post a link and ill try give you an answer! and sorry for all the writting its just i had a lot to say :) thnxs every1!
